Job Description

Our client, an established and successful surgical practice with multiple site locations across Brisbane is actively looking to appoint an additional Medical Receptionist/Secretary to join the team.  This is a busy practice that calls upon an experienced Medical Receptionist/Secretary who will be tasked with managing all aspects of a busy surgical practice providing patients with superior patient care and compassion.  

The existing team of staff are supportive of one another and pride themselves on building a practice of team members who share the same work ethics and appreciate a good sense of humour. 

This is a full time permanent position working 38 hours a week (Monday to Friday).  As an experienced Medical Receptionist/Secretary you will enjoy a variety of front desk reception, administration and secretarial support responsibilities. 

Key skills and responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

Managing the incoming calls and responding in a timely manner to all patient enquiries
Arriving patients to the practice
Booking patient consultation appointments
Preparing and running patient clinics, including the set up and running of multiple external clinics
Patient billing and receipting
Preparing theatre quotes and booking theatre procedures
Coordinating all patient post op appointments
Typing of basic correspondence, the position is supported by a dedicated part time medical typist
General office administration

We are seeking candidates with:

2-3 years experience working within a surgical specialist practice
Exposure to Genie software or at least experience operating with similar medical software programs
A level of dedication and commitment to patient care
Efficiency and accuracy when establishing new patient records
Open and clear communication skills
The ability to juggle multiple priorities 
A solid understanding of Medicare, DVA, Workcover, Medicolegal and Private Health Fund billing 
A positive 'can do' attitude towards your work 
Be able to work within a close-knit team

Remuneration:

An hourly rate between $27.50 - $34.00 will be offered along with subsidised staff parking rates.
