Job Description

Our client a well respected and established Obstetric and Fertility practice located in South Brisbane is actively looking to appoint an experienced Medical Receptionist/Secretary to join their team.  Working within a busy practice you will enjoy the support of another Medical Secretary who will assist you with managing all aspects of the day to day running of patient clinics.  Empathy, superior patient care and compassion are critical attributes to succeed in this position. 

This is a part time permanent position working 4 days a week:

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (7:00am to 3:00pm or 6:30am to 2:30pm) each day.   You will also be required to cover additional hours during periods of staff absence (leave relief).

Key duties and responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

Taking incoming calls and managing all general patient enquiries
Arriving patients to the practice
Preparing and running patient clinics
Managing patient appointments (coordination, confirmation as well as rescheduling patient appointments)
Liaising closely with the Surgeon and Fertility Group to facilitate a smooth and seamless experience for the patients undergoing day procedures 
Data entry of patient details into Genie software, ensuring the information is managed with accuracy
Providing assistance with patient billing and receipting for general consultations

Ideally, the position would be best suited to an experienced Medical Receptionist/Secretary with knowledge of Genie software and an understanding of the complex nature of an Obstetric and Fertility practice. 

To ensure your success in a position like this, you will have:

Well developed reception, administration and secretarial skills (preferably working within a surgical practice)
Experience using Genie software 
Knowledge of Medicare and Private Health Funds
Strong communication and organisational skills
Understanding of patient confidentiality
The ability to build a rapport with patients and be empathetic and supportive of their individual needs
